No, it's his house. 100%. This one - I can't reach any of the drawers. There's nothing on the counters though. And this oven is empty. Which I guess is a lot better than sit could be?
Let's hope that's all he does. And that he doesn't decide to get revenge. And that spider-god upstairs doesn't decide you're messing with the wrong monster and goes after you.
It should be kind of obvious what the difference is, though. Orange and blue, right? Or is he colorblind? Oh my god, was I being a jerk to a colorblind guy?
is that not like asking for trouble? i don't know shit about witchcraft or whatever so maybe i'm wrong but burning a card that came out of nowhere with 'fuck your entire life' and also possibly david on it seems like a really, really bad idea
Depending on the weather and how drunk they were, the clothes came off in sort of a slow progression. Usually I got to be the sober seeing-eye dog.
Not in Ormond, yeah! Or anywhere else that's freezing cold, like ... half the places around here, actually. He probably gets more because he's the craziest. Haven't I seen him wearing, like, no shirt, just body paint?
i thought i tagged this but i found it in my open tabs
Body paint? Huh? Oh… Yeah, he does have that one. I almost forgot. Him and Julie. They like never wear it because it’s so cold in Ormond. I don’t know if he’s the craziest, really, but he isn’t crazy enough to go shirtless in the snow too often I guess.
Did you never drink? Like ever? Or get to be one of the slutty fairy godmothers losing her shoe at the end of the night?
That's magic for you. Normally, if I'm sensible about it, there's no problems, or at least no problems I can't deal with. But around here, there's just so much extra magic and evil and stuff like that that I can't make any guarantees.
You're more than JUST those. But it's always nice to know at least one person in the trial isn't going to leave me hanging. Literally!
I meant more - magic karma. The Rule of Three, that whatever you put into the world comes back to you threefold. Obviously that doesn't ALWAYS turn out to be the case, which really makes an argument against it, but I know for a fact it works for magic, because I've seen some of those things go really REALLY bad.
What I'm afraid of is that if that sort of thing carries over here, and I turn someone into a frog and you or David punts them into the sunset, all of us will end up paying for it. More than normal, anyway.
Oh. Yeah. That was in Charmed right? It turns out you can watch a LOT of Charmed reruns in the hospital. And Maury.
I guess that could happen. Do you notice anything when you do magic here? Is it like on steroids? I know I'm not that good at your boons and hexes, but, I don't think I've noticed anything.
Wait. What's the most crazy f'd up thing you saw happen? When someone didn't respect the rule of three?
Listen, next time, just kick them into a fire or something, please? It's bad enough that you're hunting us down. We don't need another distraction. Your friends are terrifying and I don't want one of them putting a knife in my back because I tripped over someone's stray sex toys while I was running for my life.
I have no trouble destroying them if that is your wish, but I must ask why this falls to me rather than the one who brought them with her in the first. Surely as this is her mess, she should clean it?
I didn't say you were obsessed with me. I just said you had obsessions. With all of us.
We compile information on you to survive. Or at least, that's what I do. I don't know about the others, but honestly? The less I know about you and your personal life, the better.
[ is that true? she knows more than she probably should, and it's not all by osmosis. ]
[ is it a good idea, to go wandering out in the forest past the safety of the light of the campfire?
no. she knows that. she knows that from experience, even, but there's only so much to do at the campfire itself. wait for another trial. try to have a conversation with people who are tired and burned out and not exactly in the mood to listen to her talk about the portents in the fire or the constellations she swears she can still see in the unfamiliar stars above them.
so escapism it is. and despite the evils the darkness holds, she's still out there. still trying to find new paths that might actually stick around. there's a field, and a pond, and a few other places, but right now she's out among the trees, where the ones that look - and might be - pine are shedding needles.
they don't smell as crisp and fresh as she remembers. not surprising. mikaela crouches down by the base of the tree anyway and hunts through the fallen needles for fresher ones that might still have a stronger scent. they might bring a little cheer to the gloom around the fire, she thinks, feeling reasonably safe because the campfire is at her back. sure, there's a fair distance of open forest between her and relative safety, but she's trying to stay focused. she'll hear if someone approaches.
[ No matter what any of them say, they always get bored. Danny knows this, the nature of the survivors, and it's why lurking around the boundary of the forest pays off so frequently. Most of them have figured out that he doesn't exactly have a place to go between trials, that he's doomed, for infuriating reasons unbeknownst to him, to skulk from realm to realm, trying not to get killed. The thick forest surrounding the survivors' campfire is as much a respite as it is an infuriation.
And the survivors think it's relatively safe, because the Entity prevents the killers from getting too close. It lulls them into a false sense of security. It's what Danny's counting on as he creeps quietly through the woods, ears perked for any sound. There's nothing, for what feels like a long time. He moves through the trees, fading in among the trunks, the tendrils of his coat floating behind him as he takes careful steps, avoiding the bigger fallen branches. His sight and hearing aren't supernaturally enhanced, so by the time he hears the rustling in the dirt, he's relatively close to the source.
Even Danny, favored by the Entity, can't quite believe what he's seeing when he peeks around a tree. It's too perfect — Mikaela, all alone, only half paying attention to her surroundings, and so very far from the campfire. Part of him is so blinded by the thrill of it that he's already reaching for his knife ... but just as his fingertips graze the handle, he thinks about her stupid message "— you can lead a horse to water, but if you kill it ..."
In this case, it's good advice. The opportunity to just watch doesn't present itself very often anymore, so Danny reins himself in, plants a gloved hand on the tree trunk and watches Mikaela pick through pine needles. When she moves, he follows, not far behind. He'll take notes on the encounter later; for now, he just observes ... and when he finally gets bored of watching, he leans the heel of his boot into a thick stick, snaps it in half. ]

Probably, but secondhand smell is different from direct. I feel like if the stink rubs off on me I can at least shower that away. Eventually. Maybe.
Or if I roll in the dirt long enough it'll go away.
